James F. Reynolds, Jr. appointed director, information technology. Bethlehem Steel Corporation BETHLEHEM, Pa., June 23, 2000 - James F. Reynolds Jr. has been appointed director, information technology, for Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He will report to Thomas J. Conarty, senior vice president, procurement, information technology and logistics. A native of Cranston, R.I., Mr. Reynolds received a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Rhode Island in 1965. Following graduation, he began his Bethlehem career as a member of the Loop Course management training program and worked in industrial engineering at the corporation's Lackawanna, N.Y., plant. Since 1969, Mr. Reynolds has worked in information technology and has been involved in designing, developing and maintaining systems for Bethlehem's operations and commercial and marketing activities. He was also a member of a cross-functional team that was responsible for reducing the in-process and finished inventories of Bethlehem's light flat rolled products. Prior to his current position, Mr. Reynolds was manager of applications development, responsible for managing all aspects of the application development portion of Bethlehem's outsourcing contract with EDS. Mr. Reynolds served for two years with the U.S. Army in an operations research group. He and his wife, Ginnie, are the parents of three adult children. They reside in Bethlehem. |
