David P. Wirick appointed senior manager, operations, at Pennsylvania Steel Technologies.

BETHLEHEM, Pa., June 16, 2000 - David P. Wirick has been appointed senior manager, operations, at Bethlehem Steel Corporation's Pennsylvania Steel Technologies Division in Steelton, Pa.

Mr. Wirick succeeds Robert J. Jones who was recently named vice president, operations, at Bethlehem Steel Corporation's Burns Harbor, Ind., Division.

A native of Windber, Pa., Mr. Wirick received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Grove City College in 1969 and a master's degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978. He later completed the Advanced Management Program at Duke University.

Mr. Wirick first worked for Bethlehem at its former Johnstown, Pa., plant in the metallurgical and technology departments.

In 1984 he was transferred to the Steelton plant as chief metallurgist and three years later became superintendent of quality assurance and metallurgical services.

Mr. Wirick was named manager of the rolling mills in 1995. In 1998, he was named manager, quality, technology and logistics, at the company's Sparrows Point, Md., Division, his most recent position.

Mr. Wirick is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, the Iron and Steel Society and ASM.

Mr. Wirick and his family reside in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
