BETHLEHEM, Pa., September 11, 2002- The Pennsylvania Steel Technologies (PST) Division of Bethlehem Steel Corporation has been certified as meeting the requirements of Quality Assurance Standard M-1003 by the Association of American Railroads (AAR).
Quality Assurance Standard M-1003 requires suppliers to implement proper controls over the design, processing, testing and inspection of products. Implementation of the system assures customers that PST's products will meet their requirements.
Andrew R. Futchko, president, PST, said "The AAR certification confirms what our customers already know-that Pennsylvania Steel Technologies is very capable of meeting the most stringent customer needs of today and tomorrow."
AAR members include all the major freight railroads in the United States, Canada and Mexico as well as the U.S. passenger carrier Amtrak. AAR is committed to keeping the railroads of North America safe, fast, efficient, clean and technologically advanced.
