    BETHLEHEM, Pa., September 24, 2001 - Bethlehem Steel Corporation announced today that it has received the necessary consents to amend its 10 3/8% Senior Notes in accordance with the consent solicitation dated September 10, 2001.

    Bethlehem has extended the solicitation until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2001 New York City time, to allow the remaining investors time to fully evaluate the offer. All other elements of the Consent Solicitation remain the same.
