    BETHLEHEM, Pa., September 12, 2001 -- The following is a statement issued by Bethlehem Steel Corporation and attributable to Duane R. Dunham, chairman, president and chief executive officer:

    "We are saddened for the loss suffered by so many American families on September 11. Bethlehem Steel fully supports President Bush and will assist our government in any way we can during this national security crisis."
