BETHLEHEM, Pa., May 11, 2001 - Frederick C. Rorick Jr., superintendent of ironmaking at Bethlehem Steel Corporation's Sparrows Point, Md., Division, has received one of the top awards of the Iron and Steel Society for professionalism that supports the steel industry.
Mr. Rorick was presented with the T.L. Joseph Award at the Iron and Steel Society's 60th annual Ironmaking Conference held in Baltimore. The award recognizes the individual who has made significant contributions in the fields of ironmaking and/or ore agglomeration technology, including developments that lead to blast furnace improvements in design, operation and productivity.
A graduate of Dickinson College, Mr. Rorick has worked for Bethlehem Steel in its hot metal operations since 1967. He has long been associated with numerous professional and technical associations to maximize the efficiency of iron and steelmaking operations.
Mr. Rorick is a resident of Bel Air, Md.
