    For Immediate Release

BETHLEHEM, Pa., April 14, 2000 - In response to media inquiries concerning the presentation by Curtis "Hank" Barnette, chairman and chief executive officer, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, at Moravian College on April 4, the following information was provided:

Mr. Barnette spoke to the Management 365: Business Strategy and Policy class of the Colleges Business Department in his first classroom appearance in his role as Executive-in-Residence at Moravian. He reviewed a businesss vision, strategy, objectives, core values and actions to build a foundation for its success.

In announcing Mr. Barnettes participation in the classroom, Dr. Ervin J. Rokke, president of Moravian College, said:

"Mr. Barnette is a global business leader with extensive experience in corporate governance, international trade and corporate litigation at the highest levels of the international business world. He will be able to offer invaluable guidance to our business and economics students by sharing his expertise and perspectives on working in both domestic and international business environments."

Said Dr. Santo Marabella, associate professor of business and instructor of Management 365:

"Mr. Barnette is the type of person who believes in his role to educate. There are great people in business who cant describe what they do. There are teachers who are great at facilitating but dont know all the theory. He knows both."

After his April 25, 2000 retirement, Mr. Barnette will continue as Executive-in-Residence at the college and will participate from time to time in classroom instruction during the academic year.
