Appointment of Daniel G. Mull to vice president, commercial, Burns Harbor Division

BETHLEHEM, Pa., October 11, 1999 -- The appointment, effective October 1, 1999, of Daniel G. Mull to vice president, commercial, Burns Harbor Division, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, was announced by Curtis H. Barnette, chairman and chief executive officer, Bethlehem Steel.

Mr. Mull is succeeding David M. Beinner who was recently elected senior vice president, commercial, at Bethlehem's corporate headquarters.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. Mull received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University in 1973 and attended the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University in 1995.

Following receipt of his undergraduate degree, Mr. Mull joined Bethlehem Steel as a member of the Loop Course management training program and completed sales training. He was first assigned to the corporation's New York sales office and, in 1978, was named sales manager for Bethlehem's Supply Division in Houston, Tex. He was promoted to division general manager of the Supply Division in 1987.

Mr. Mull returned to Bethlehem's sales department in the Chicago office in 1988 and was named manager of sales, Chicago, in 1992. In 1997 he was appointed product marketing manager, plates, for the Burns Harbor Division and was appointed product marketing manager - west for Bethlehem Lukens Plate in Burns Harbor, Ind., in August 1998.

A resident of Naperville, Ill., Mr. Mull is active with Boy Scout troop activities in the Du Page Council. He and his wife, Sandy, have two children.
