Participation requires, as a minimum, a computer system; software to format X12 output and to interpret X12 input; and a communications package to include a modem and telephone line. These requirements can be satisfied in a number of ways. A personal computer or company mainframe can be used. Software can be developed by your own programmers or an X12 based package can be purchased. Communications can be run direct or through a third party network services provider.
