The plate depot is fulfilling the needs of Sparrows Point plate customers who want quick service. Customers can order standard size/grade plates and pick them up in just 72 hours.

Seeing a need for maximum product reliability, availability, quality and handling efficiency, the Sparrows Point Plate Team established the plate depot in an unused production facility that was once part of the former rod mill. The depot's location-away from mill traffic and with easier access to interstate highways-is ideal.

The advantages of the new depot have made it popular with customers and sales have doubled and are continuing to grow.

High Quality

Every aspect of the depot was designed with quality final product in mind. All depot plate is shipped from the 160" mill that was modernized with the installation of automatic gauge and computer process controls. With this multi-million dollar investment, and with continuously cast steel slabs as the feedstock, plates from the Sparrows Point Plate Depot are the best ever. As an additional assurance, each shipment is unloaded and stored indoors, out of the elements.

We provide superior service from our highly trained customer service staff, Lonnie Bull and Lois McGoughran. Bill Adey, Plate Mill Order Status Coordinator, handles the shipping schedule, and the Depot itself is operated with a dedicated shipping crew that handles the loading of every truck.

Customer service representatives can promptly assign a convenient loading time for pick up within 72 hours of an inquiry. Bethlehem's 72-hour shipment window, Monday through Friday, has allowed for better service to customers and reduced their turnaround and costly inventory levels.

Plate Depot Product

Internal orders are placed every week to replenish our stock in the Depot, and all such orders take priority over all our other schedules.  This helps to make sure we always have on hand an ample supply of the steel you need

Full truckloads only, Separate purchase orders, Five tons per item, No combining with mill orders,  Minimum item quantity, ordered in multiples of  these quantities:

1/4" -  6 pieces

3/8" - 4 pieces

1/2" - 3 pieces

Item quantities in excess of 40 tons per week must be inquired.
